Ed Crayton
Freelance Creative Director
Ed Crayton was subliminally inspired to get into advertising, by watching the wacky sitcom "Bewitched". Since then, he's found advertising much crazier than the show.Ed's first advertising job was at Goodby, Berlin & Silverstein in San Francisco. He started out as a gofer and worked and prayed his way into a copywriter position. As Ed says, "Goodby is like the Bell Labs of the business".
At the 'Lab', Ed produced award winning ads and best in print (Grafis Publications) for clients like ~ Royal Viking Line, UC San Francisco, Carl's Jr. and New Zealand Wool.

After six years, he left for Doyle Advertising Boston to work and grow under the eye of design guru John Doyle. The first lesson he learned was the meaning of the word Snowstorm. A year later the firm was sold to guess who? Yep, one of Ed's old bosses, Andy Berlin. At this point, Ed was inspired to freelance. A great, scary adventure that led him to tour; Hill, Holiday; Pagano, Schneck & Kay; Chiat/Day. The next year at Chiat he created a spot Adweek called, "...the best Energizer commercial in years."

Around this time dGWB Advertising asked him to come aboard ship. Ed did well there and through hard work, prayer and humor he rose to Associate Creative Director.
Ed is currently working in the Dallas area as a Creative Director at DDB.

Not one to get comfortable, he'll tell you, "... it's a crazy, unpredictable trip". But he's confident and having fun, after all advertising's nutty, but unlike "Bewitched" at least they don't switch Darrens on you.More Features
